If you need 3 phase service 120/208 or 277/480 and all you have is two phases of primary. Climbsomemore was talking about where one of the phases on the secondary might show a little low but it's enough to fool a motor little while back.
wtdoor67 is the one who showed me where this bank was; can't remember how much experience he has with building one of these.

Top that's an open wye-open delta bank you have in your diagram.
Now there is also another configuration to what I posted utilizing two pots on a 120/208 or 277/480 service but it can only be done with a 4 external secondary bushing transformer (167kva). I have a diagram of it stashed away somewhere.

I've never built one except in one of those training centers where they have the little pots to practice on.
I knew about it since the 80's but never saw one in use until I landed in Chickentown.

For the pictures, it must work, I do not think I will ever come across one in these parts, but I will keep an eye out, probably find Sasquatch first, he has been duckin me for years.

If I could ever get my Ben Stein instructor back out to bring me those little pots I'd have a field day with all the things that I've learned beyond the basic bank hookups. I remember when I played with them before they do require a 3 phase hookup on them.
I tell you when I pulled over at that toll place to take those pictures I didn't know if they we're going to call the cops on me for being a little suspicious just parking and taking pictures and driving off.

Vectors
Sorry to bring this back from the dead, but I would love to see a vector diagram of this if someone knows what it would look like.
