A Vermont Electric Cooperative line worker was killed Wednesday while working on an electric utility line on Sawmill Road in Essex, town police said.

Detective Lt. George Murtie said the man, whose name was being withheld pending notification of his family, fell onto electrical wires and died in a work-related accident about 1:20 p.m.
