A 33-year-old CenterPoint Energy worker died Friday from an electrocution accident in Rosenberg.

Jarrod Barclay Wittneben, who would have celebrated his birthday later this month, was an avid hunter, fisherman, welder, chef and dedicated father, according to family.

"He was the life of the party," said Melissa Wittneben, his wife of 12 years.

The couple lived in Fort Bend County with their 10-year-old son, Clay Wayne Wittneben."There's this hog hunting tournament that happens around his birthday every year and that's usually what we did," Melissa Wittneben said. "But we hadn't even got around to talking about his birthday yet this year."

CenterPoint officials could not be immediately reached for comment. The cause of the accident remains under investigation with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and a report is expected later this month, according to Melissa Wittneben.
