Hot Line Clamps Empty Hot Line Clamps

Post  Highplains Drifter Sat Feb 04, 2012 1:33 am

I like to use hot line clamps for temporary service connections at the secondary. I hate to squeeze on connecters when I know they are not going to be a permanent connection. For example a construction meter service for a new house, in fact when disconnecting I used to roll that 100 foot of triplex up to the electricians meter pole and let them carry that wire to the next job!

Yeah we used'em on temp secondary jumpers in Detroit to keep three phase customers hot while changin out a pole! Just for you apes remember to stager the connection points so you don't get'em to close to the next phase down (or up Laughing , or hell even over! affraid)

We don't squeeze anythin here anymore except of course loop sleeves! To be honest I never liked parallel grooves? Now we bolt almost everything but I wish we had ampacts too!
