My New Toy
The day has finally come...the next time I post or talk to any of ya, I will have taken ownership of my new toy! I will post pics as soon as it is in my driveway....
My linemen at work were discussing it yesterday and now they think my nickname should not be EL.....but rather, they came up with EBB. Can you figure it out?

Yes, it was an easy one.....Electric Biker Bitch......ok gonna download a photo, I think in the sun you will actually be able to see that it is purple/silver.....and yes....a Sportster1200 low. Went to a solo Mustang seat and sportster saddlebags. Got more plans for it....a little at a time.

Cool bike EBB!
If that is your dog in the background, you're gonna have to trade it in for a Pitbull or something.
A Rat dog is no longer part of your M.O.!!

Re: My New Toy
I am not too awfully concerned with my image on the bike.....already have chaps, ordered a leather jacket(the essentials)...bought some riding boots a few years ago just cause I liked the looks of em, now they will actually be functional.
Have a helmet and gloves.....think I am set for now....still just a "grama with a harley"......not really gonna be a "biker bitch"....not my style....dont want my best personality trait to only be associated with the harley

Re: My New Toy
Nice job EL.. you made short work of that. Drive defensivly and watch out for those nitt witts that are gonna constantly make left turns in front of you. Its like your invisible sometimes. Watch on-comming drivers closely. sometimes they wont even signal a turn. If you notice they reduce speed or suddenly move their hand to the top of the steering wheel look-out.
I notice more and more Harley riders riding so close to the center line that their handle bars are actually over the line??? not sure whats up with that, maybe its only a Buffalo thing. but with so many drivers texting and all the distractions I always thought its safest to ride in the center of your lane. Try and always give your self an escape, God forbid you have to lay the bike down, they say its safer to stay with the bike.
God, I must sound like a mother hen, sorry bout that

Practice makes perfect.
Few hundred miles with a mixture of different roads and soon enough you'll be wearing a mongols vest; philly chapter
I just completed 500 miles on my bike and it goes in tomorrow for the first maintenance; valve adjustment, fluids, etc. I had to do 150 miles today so it'll go in tomorrow and boy my ass is a wee bit sore. 70 before the wind beat the shit out of me and I didn't like going that fast. Well after this trip today I found myself pushing 80 and now 55/60 feels like I'm going 35/40.
With the few extra upgrades I've done since I last posted and more that are coming they highway speeds will be even more enjoyable. With that being said, Becky I think your going to find these damn bikes are money pits, it never ends!
As I was coming back I seen a advanced riders course going on with students on their own bikes...think I'll take that after another 1500 miles or so. Give any thought to it?

Re: My New Toy
Just took the bike up for a friend of mine to see who owns a bar.....he has a fatboy....really liked my bike....told me I can practice in his lot when he is closed if I would like.....Riding every chance I can to get more comfortable with the bike....and yes "Poppa Groove"...I am being very careful....I find I am far more alert to what is going on around me(in driveways, side streets, intersections) than I ever was in a car, plan to carry this newfound alertness into my car driving too. I will admit....like Chuckie...I do love it....there is no feeling like it(kinda gets addictive)
I am very glad that I finally got one......I guess you are never too old to do the things you always wanted to do all your life, but at some point wrote em off as something you just would never get around to doing.
My friend Sal, laughed and mentioned the solo seat... he said, "I guess you are not gonna have any men on the back of your bike." I said, "If a man wants to ride with me, he better have his own bike." He got a chuckle out of that statement. well off to take another ride....gotta go get gas and smokes! Later Gators

SORRY
How did I miss this thread?
Must have hit the morphine pump!
Glad you joined the ME free crowd. Just watch for DOGS, TURTLES, CAGES, AND MOST OF ALL DRINKING BIKERS.
Even with a 2 inch hole in my chest, I made 160 miles day before yesterday. Hope the surgeon isn't looking out his window tomorrow to see me show up on 2 wheels.
