Here's some pictures of this area that we have that used to be it's own town. These are transformer houses and when it comes to doing any kind of work inside the things it's pretty much a nightmare.

The picture of the little dog house is a 3 phase secondary pedastal--not fun to work with either.

There's even manholes in backyards.

Come get you some Laughing

That's awesome. We had a few of those houses when I first went to work here. Thank god they are gone. Love those non-loadbreaks too!

We used to have an overhead xfmr bank in a broom closet, fed with urd! I wish I had taken a picture of it back in the day!

I kept a couple of the old porcelain 2400 stab cut outs. You actually cut the fuse wire from a roll to the length you needed it. Nice photos.

I can't figure out what that 3/4 conduit from the brick wall to the top of the pots is all about? No

Looks like a home-made wire rack.

OMG... I hate those trouble calls. I get the address from dispatch and immediatly get this feeling of dread. Those non-break elbows suck. If ya got to lift elbows you have to kill it. Our transformers like that are submercable. Their in a pit filled with water most of the time.

You got to pump the holes out just to see whats going on. If you do lift elbows, good luck getting them to seal right afterwords. I'm not sure what that 3/4 pvc pipe is all about? is that a street light circuit? or maybe a feed to a CATV box?

Bury them 5 ft in the ground and either put an 80 lb grate over'em or a steel door and you'll have what we have! Subsurfs! scratch

Thank goodness we got rid of all our submersibles years ago! (rumor has it some were buried right in there silo's and a pad mount was set on top of it!)

Lifting those steel grates off the top of those silo's was a scarey task, switching it out was fairly easy though, ours had a switch for each run, so isolating was easy.

There was a dead possum in the house that kind of had a linger to it so I wasn't getting all up in smelling that rat looking bastard.

The conduit up top feeds a 3 phase meter base right on the other side of the wall. The others is just a old school rack.

We're starting the process of replacing all that mess with the houses. Currently getting the 1st phase together of replacing everything. New loops an all.

That's partially true here! Embarassed Except we pull the old tub out! Just don't bend over too far in the pad mount or you might need a ladder! affraid

So, are you tearing down that structure, or donating to the property owner for a tool shed??

Looks like it would make a nice storage for someone. Damn, stuccoed, with a nice roof design and
everything!!

Utility trying to blend, or what??

Actually what I was doing there was killing out a loop so the contractors could bore to install some new URD cable that keeps faulting.

The jacked up part is all that cable will be abandoned when the construction starts to getting rid of all that old stuff. It'll probably take a couple of years to do whole enchilada with all the funding.

What do I know...just a fly on the wall!!!!!!!

Your right that would make a nice shed pirat
