Finally a little excitement here at the company!!

Post  MI-Lineman on Thu Feb 23, 2012 11:43 pm

It's not much but we had a little swamp job that only required stoning the poles but it was still fun! I only got to be on it the first day to set the poles! We used the digger to set the poles and then I grabbed them with the flex so we could swing a stone bag over to the pole and fill'em in!

Did you notice that your digger boom is about one golfer hole from laying on its side. I hate it when that happens!. Surprised

I didn't notice that, but you are right!
It wouldn't take much to put that digger on its side. We've all seen that happen.

I like that boom rig on tracks!

Pretty nice piece of equipment!

What's that white stuff all over the ground???

Do you guys have to carry a sack of rocks for all your poles?

We have a pad under the outrigger and it was solid ground! I went over in a tree bucket once cuz I let my crew leader tell me the landscape timber under the rigger would hold so I pay very close attention to them now!! Shocked

That white stuff was lovely snow!!! We got more just the other day but it's gonna be gone again soon! Sad That flex track has a great boom but the vehicle sucks!!! It has barely enough power to pull itself up a slight bank and is heavy as hell!! Supposedly these flex's are normally used for dump trucks in mines?

I was actually kind of surprised to see that ya'll have equipment like that up there. I think it's pretty cool that you have stuff like that. Think about the baddest think you might see west of here is a line truck equipped with balloon tires to go in the sand or maybe a mule-atv to get out in the right away after a rain storm.

Hmmm....can't forget the backyard machine with a wireless remote control!

I love the new backyard machines. we can fit them through a 30 inch gate. there sweet! set the pole, hang a transformer. even pin a bucket on them. Big jobs we use a track digger.

Yeah we got remote backyard machines and even a few remote digger trucks but unfortunately some of our equipment like the flex and backyard machines are shared with a lot of other headquarters so it's hard to get them!

Yuck...I hate that. Then when you go to get the equipment you'll find some other dudes spit cup inside there and the damn fuel tank be empty. I hate using borrowed equipment.

alot of bad things happen when guys unfamiliar with the machines use them. stuff goes missing, things get broke and no one says anything. I wish every bard had their own stuff. trouble is Transportation tracks the use on everything. If a barn dosen't use something for awhile, transportation takes it away and auctions it off.

So, I guess I spoke too soon about that "White Stuff!"

It was 85 in LHC on Saturday, and then I get this job in Kingman!
Wind blowing 40 miles an hour, and some of that white stuff on the ground when I got up there today!

Freezing my ass off! Mad Sick Dude

Dam, you sure got enough toys? I want that little man carrier! Not for work though! Very Happy

We had those white flex units until they started having issues with them. They got rid of'em all! Those had more ability to go through stuff then the ones we got now!

On that big track with everyone on there I know that guy that shows the 2 on his helmet...he kinda has a desk next to mine! That must of been in Katrina!

Hell I think most of those pictures are in Katrina and I don't think half that equipment is ours! Nice pics though!!!

The truck's bed is 4.5 foot off of the ground.

Just entering the water.

The water is over the bed of the machine, but the air cleaner is mounted on the cab
