That's a great example!
I have had the same situation with splices where cold shrinks were used. That rubber tends to break down rather quickly.
That secondary looks like a nightmare.

Good post.........
That looks like backyard, fenced in, not labeled, shit that is found everywhere apparently, good pictures, now find that in the middle of the night, throw in a couple pitbulls, and piles of dogshit everywhere, now thats a party.............
Another reminder is the old live fronts, especially the three phase pad mounts, all the metal on that old rusty door opener that ya gotta put your shoulder into it while your buddy puts the boot to it to open, I am suprised not to hear of more accidents and flashes, then ya got some estimater or engineer that wants you to open them up just to see how many runs of 500 is in them...........
Then trow in the property owner that landscapes all around them trying to hide the eye sore, and lets not forget the hornets nests, black widows, snakes, and rats piss and shit, along with the gophers that love the ditch line for easy digging and love to fill these padmounts up with dirt.............

Do you take heat readings of the transformer tank before you open it and of that rat nest after you expose it?
